Ethan Chatov of Chatov Law LLC in Gresham, Oregon, aims to provide his clients with the candid advice and responsiveness they deserve from their attorney. He does not want his clients to ever feel as though they are operating in the dark.

Ethan Chatov’s Background

Ethan A. Chatov received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL in 1996 and his law degree from the Willamette University College of Law in 2006, where he served as president of his class, president of the Student Bar Association and a member of Moot Court.  In the years prior to opening his own law practice, Ethan engaged in civil litigation as an insurance defense attorney in downtown Portland, Oregon.  He is a member of the Oregon State Bar Association, the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, and the Gresham Chamber of Commerce.  Chatov Law LLC has been certified a GREAT business by the City of Gresham for the efforts it takes to conserve natural resources, protect the local environment and help the bottom line.

Ethan grew up in Snyder, New York and attended Amherst Central High School, in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metropolitan area.  Graduating from college at the beginning of the dot.com boom, he spent over six years in the Chicago high tech industry working as a graphic, web, and multimedia designer for then-market leaders InstallShield Software CorporationCMGI, and Inforte Corporation.  An avid skier, Ethan spent the season before law school fulfilling one of his lifelong passions, living and working at Big Sky Resort in Montana.

Mr. Chatov is also an accomplished musician; he has played violin since age 4.  He was concertmaster of his high school orchestra, winner of concerto competitions in the Western New York region, a first violinist in the New York All-State and Interlochen World Youth Symphony Orchestras, and majored in violin performance as a freshman at Northwestern’s prestigious School of Music.  Although Ethan decided against pursuing the uncertain career of a professional musician, music continues to enrich his personal life. Over the years, Mr. Chatov has been a member of the Oregon Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra and the Sunnyside Symphony Orchestra. He also belongs to Amateur Chamber Music Players (ACMP), through which he participates in numerous string quartets and other small ensembles.
